Zita McLaughlin is a BA Graduate in Drama, Theatre & Performance with Law (2015-19) in NUIG, Alumni of University of California, Santa Barbara. She has gained several years’ experience in Directing for Theatre through community-theatre projects and semi-professional works. She also has an interest in costume design & construction of which she has gained various methods from different costume designers and their teams, predominantly in Galway. She also has some experience in acting for stage including Advanced Shakespeare in UC, Santa Barbara (2018) and also a brief introduction to original pronunciation (OP) from John Carty (Blue Raincoat Theatre Company) in 2015. She has also received an education in Meisner & clowning acting technique workshops in Sligo (2012 – 2015). Her achievements this far have been as follows: awarded Irish Student Drama Association Award (ISDA) for Best Costume Design 2017 (Gee Whizz – Alice Keane), nomination for Best Director 2017 for Eurydice (Sarah Ruhl) (ISDA), achieved the Dean's Honour’s List in UCSB 2018.
